New Taipei City, Taiwan, Feb. 10, 2021 - Vecow Co., Ltd., a team of global embedded experts, are proud to share that the Ultra-compact IoT Gateway VIG-120 has a successful case in the EMEA market. Powered by i.MX6 Arm® Cortex®-A7 processor, Vecow VIG-120 integrates with seamless connectivity including 4 COM, 2 CAN Bus, 2 GigE LAN, 1 Mini PCIe and SIM socket for expansions, a wide DC input range of 6V to 40V and Fanless, -25°C to 70°C operating temperature. It also has rugged reliability and a high endurance design making it a comprehensive solution for EV Charger Management.
Competition in the global electric vehicle market is fierce especially since the Year 2020. The market research institute estimates that the global sales of electric vehicles in 2021 will be about 4.58 million, which is an annual growth rate of more than 50% compared to the 2.86 million vehicles last year. This is meaning that the demand for the infrastructure of charger stands for the EV market will have substantial growth in the coming 2-3 years.
The customer based in the EMEA market is looking for an embedded system that is capable of providing efficiency, reliability and convenience for EV charger management and equipment monitoring. A reliable and smarter EV charger plays a large role because it leads to pleasant user experiences for all EV drivers, whether they are home, or needed for a long trip. In addition, the system needs high-performance for real-time monitoring and control. It is designed for industrial environments and allows a non-stop communication network. The Vecow VIG-120 is considered the best solution.
Vecow VIG-120, based on NXP i.MX6 UltraLite 696MHz Arm® Cortex®-A7 processor with 512MB DDR3L memory and 512MB NAND onboard, is a programmable IoT Gateway to implement with third-party open-source Data Base software like MySQL/SOLite for real-time data management in the field side. It has both 2 GigE LAN ports and 4G/WiFi/NB-IoT/LoRa wireless communication expansions for the data transmission and back-up to the host of information management center. The platform also provides 2 CAN Bus ports with half-duplex, Daisy chain, quick transmission rate, anti-interference, and error management features to access with EV charger stands for CAN protocol conversion. For EV charging field environment monitoring, the VIG-120 is outfitted with 4 S/W configurable COM RS-232/422/485 ports, which enables the connection of the device to different front-end sensors or meters.
"Vecow VIG-120 is an Arm-based system that delivers easy-to-use, reliable and power-efficient capabilities for IoT ready applications," said Joseph Huang, Sales Manager, Sales & Marketing Division at Vecow. "The popularity of EV can bring us a greener future with emission-free mobility to respond to our commitment for a better environment. Meanwhile, a reliable and accessible electric vehicle charging infrastructure is underway for every EV driver. The VIG-120 represents an ideal EV charger management for our customers.”
